Beta 1

Beta 2

Beta 1 instructions Beta 2 instructions

Latest: Download 0.9.32

Notable Changes:

  • When in Erg mode, remote button up/down now sets +/- 1% or long presses +/- 10% of target and will hold that percentage for all Erg commands in that session.
  • Accepts a magnet air gap calibration offset
  • Accepts magnet calibration for the entire power curve.

Known Issues:

  • See 0.9.10, this is resolved with Beta 2, but requires factory re-flash.

Download 0.9.25

Notable Changes:

  • Additional smoothing of speed reporting.
  • Increased speed moving average window when calcluting Erg targets.
  • Smoothing resistance movements when in simulator mode (i.e. Zwift/BKOOL).

Known Issues:

  • See 0.9.10, this is resolved with Beta 2, but requires factory re-flash.

Download 0.9.23

Notable Changes:

  • Smoothing out speed data by recording timestamp when the actual tick occurs instead of reading accumulated count at message interval.
  • Added support for calibration messages to request from display and send a coastdown completion message from device.
  • Reading battery when requested instead of just sending the last read message.
  • Improved handling of battery and accelerometer events to improve performance.
  • Fixed a critical bug with when receiving too many concurrent ANT+ data requests.

Known Issues:

  • See 0.9.10

Download 0.9.20

Notable Changes:

  • Refined iteration of magnet power modeling based on ride data collected.

Known Issues:

  • See 0.9.10

Download 0.9.18

Notable Changes:

  • Fixes regression bug with decoding simulation grade introduced in 0.9.17.

Known Issues:

  • See 0.9.10

Download 0.9.17

Notable Changes:

  • The most significant change in this release is the complete rework of the magnet power model which brings more accuracy to power estimating over the whole range of speeds, whereas the original model was optimized for around 15 mph. NOTE: It is not perfect and there is plenty of room to make it better and we will, but it is a significant improvement over the initial model.
  • Minor fixes to brake resistance a.k.a percentage mode to calculate percent based on the effective portion of the magnet's travel, vs. the spectrum where the first 10-20% did not have any effective resistance.
  • Long up/down press of button in Erg mode will increment/decrement watts target by 20 watts, short press increments/decrements by 2 watts.

Known Issues:

  • See 0.9.10
  • Identified on Feb 10, 2015: This build does not work properly with Zwift, the simulation grade is being decoded incorrectly and causing incorrect resistance. This will be addressed quickly and fixed in 0.9.18.

Download 0.9.14

Notable Changes:

  • Uses calibration values (Drag, RR) from coast down calibration (requires tool v1.5.1+).

Known Issues:

  • See 0.9.10

Download 0.9.13

Notable Changes:

  • Enhancements to the coast down calibration process (requires tool v1.4.5+)
  • Workaround to restore user profile settings after DFU update (requires tool v1.4.5+)
  • Enhancements for upcoming Trainer Road beta for E-Motion Rollers

Known Issues:

  • See 0.9.10

Download 0.9.11

Notable Changes:

  • Fixes a spike in speed when you start pedaling after being completed stopped. This bug was introduced in 0.9.10.

Known Issues:

  • See 0.9.10

Download 0.9.10

Notable Changes:

  • Fixes abrupt exit of calibration mode when an extra long button press is made. Calibration now only exits when the rider gets below 5mph, no need to button press to exit calibration.
  • Fixes issue with BKOOL not detecting stopped wheel.
  • Support for upcoming Trainer Road beta.

Known Issues:

  • All user settings are reset when DFU mode entered (UPDATE: This is going to require factory re-programming and we're rolling out a plan to address, stay tuned)

Download 0.9.9

Notable Changes:

  • PLEASE NOTE: You must use the E-Motion Test Tool v1.3 with this version.
  • Adds coast down calibration mode for data collection.
  • Adds LED indications for charge states and functions.
  • Extends shutdown timeout to ~7 minutes and ensures device will shutdown.
  • Improved button handling.

Known Issues:

  • All user settings can be reset when DFU mode entered.

Download 0.9.8

Notable Changes:

  • Various bug fixes.
  • Supports ANT+ Bike Speed profile, eliminating the need for a separate speed sensor (useful for calibration rides).
  • Ability to micro-adjust calibration Offset via remote control.
  • Remote control offers micro adjustment +/- 2 watts when in Erg mode (it used to be 15 watts).
  • Ability to set custom servo positions from E-Motion Test Tool.
  • Battery voltage now reporting standard ANT+ profile levels (New,Good,OK,Low,Critical).
  • Fixed battery operating time for a session.

Known Issues:

  • Speed does not always report properly when wheel stopped.
  • All user settings are reset when DFU mode entered.
  • Improved button handling for reset & device firmware update mode needed.
  • Improved sleep logic (fixing issue under certain circumstances the device does not auto-sleep), lengthen sleep timeout, do not sleep when in BLE connection.
  • LED indication for battery low status needed.

0.9.4

Initial beta 1 release.

Early Access: Download 1.3.61

Notable Changes:

  • Complete ANT+ FE-C implementation.
  • Removes support for legacy WAHOO ANT Bike Power resistance control.
  • Ability to pair with external ANT+ Power Meter for accurate resistance matching.
  • If no power meter found, restores to use traditional estimated power algorithm.
  • No longer supports the IRT GUI tool, requires a new tool for advanced configuration.

Known Issues:

  • Calibration through ANT+ FE-C is not possible (rely on power meter).

Latest: Download 1.0.34

Notable Changes:

  • Fixes that smooth speed reporting and can reduce some power spikes.
